Occurrences like the one listed within this story unfortunately happen a lot. In varying criminal ways, but enough. I once remember hearing multiple reports from my apartment management to please take care to lock our apartment doors at night. An unknown man has been walking into girls apartments and just watching them sleep. I remember never forgetting to lock my apartment door again. In fact I used to do it when roommates didn’t take their house key, and they’d be furious at me. They used to even just leave our apartment door open to the hallway because they saw no point in closing it. I’d close it… they’d come back and leave it open. We were both pretty happy when I just moved out.

This story however is from a personal friend of mine whom I’d known for ages. She told me this story right after it happened, and I haven’t brought it up to her again a s I fear it may upset her. But it’s a cautionary tale as to why it is important to do the little things to protect us from unknown predators out there.
